Most of the weekend (and Monday) I spent writing! I got into a writing mood and, filled with inspiration and ideas, spent my time typing away. Pretty much all that I wrote was for one of my fanfictions, but I’m glad, because the story is really moving forward and transforming into something much, much better than its former self. It’s quite funny, actually. So much of it is completely different from the original concept that the original concept could now be called an AU (alternate universe)!
I’ve really been enjoying getting to know my character more deeply… And actually, even though working hard to make sure she stays in character makes parts of the story more challenging to write, because I know better how she acts/reacts in certain situations, the story ends up flowing much better and becomes easier to write. It’s an interesting phenomenon lol.
Hm… That aside, as I mentioned on Twitter, I’m starting a part-time job this month making sandwiches for a local health food store~ The shift is early in the morning, which works really well for me because I love mornings, and it helps me to stay focused throughout the rest of the day because I don’t have that extra time to just lounge around lol. It’s definitely different from what I’m used to, especially the training because I have to get up at 4:45 in the morning o___o But once I start next week I can come in at something more like 6:30 so that will be better. XD;
Also, the store has a sound system that is set up to stream music from the store’s iPad, so I’m wondering if I can play Japanese music with it… And if not, maybe podcasts or something else. That would be great, because I could get in listening practice while I’m making sandwiches and wraps! But yeah, we’ll see.
How is everyone else doing? *^^*
Wow 4:45 that is EARLY O_O! It’s great to have some immersion going on during the day though 🙂
Yes! Thankfully I don’t have to do that now that I’m done with training, though today I woke up around 4:50 by myself (feeling refreshed, which is wonderful!) even though my alarm wasn’t set to go off until 5:30!
So far the immersion is going pretty well! For simplicity’s sake, I’m using my iPod with podcasts and (borrowing) my brother’s portable speakers, which fold up into a small cube. About an hour in, whoever is coming to open the store comes in and turns on the music… I keep my iPod close to me so I can still hear over the sound system, though, and it’s good practice to make my brain pay attention to the Japanese instead of the English lyrics in the background, I guess!
